Leslie Carpenter, CPDT-KA

Leslie Carpenter earned her B.S. in Animal Science from N. C. State University in 1980. A believer in lifelong education, she has pursued additional courses in animal science, adult education, and psychology.

Leslie has more than 20 years of experience in teaching adults and more than 30 years of experience in training dogs of all breeds. Leslie & Wyatt (2005)As a former county extension agent and community college instructor, Leslie has designed and delivered educational programs for adults and children in a hands-on setting.

Leslie is an avid dog handler and exhibitor. She purchased her first Doberman Pinscher in 1977, and has owned at least one ever since. She has shown her dogs in both conformation and obedience, and has earned multiple awards with multiple dogs.

Leslie is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, as recognized by the independent, non-profit Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She has been tested and earned her endorsement from the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors. She is a certified by the American Kennel Club as a Canine Good Citizen evaluator. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.

Leslie is a past President of the United Doberman Club, and a founding member and past president of the Working Dobermans of the Carolinas. She is an active member of the Raleigh Schutzhund Association.
